Save Romania Union (USR) leaders should do what USR Chair Elena Lasconi has started, „to get her head out” of the party, to abandon personal calculations and put her energy for the benefit of the people, says Radu Mihaiu, a member of the USR National Bureau.
„USR is compelled to respond to the need that brought us into politics, to offer the certainty that someone is still fighting and for what is right. And that means we need to quickly relearn how to be generous. Let’s open up to all people who fight for the same values. Let’s relinquish when the general interest requires it. But above all, let’s be honest with ourselves and admit when we are wrong. We have to do what Elena Lasconi has already started. Let’s get our heads out of the party, let’s abandon small personal calculations and put all our energy at the service of the people. That’s what I’m going to do!”, Radu Mihaiu wrote on Tuesday in a social media post.
As he was elected a member of the USR National Bureau on June 29, he said that he entered the race for this forum because he is determined to stand up to the Social Democratic Party (PSD). „I say PSD-ism (and not only PSD) because emptiness is contagious in politics. Political games, undeserved gains, self-proclaimed leaders have taken the place of democracy. There is no longer talk of reforms, projects, principles – everything is about electoral calculations and maneuvering masses.”
