We have shown political maturity for stability and development of Romania, says PM Ciolacu

The chairman of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Marcel Ciolacu, declared on Friday, after the submission to the Central Electoral Bureau of the list of PSD PNL candidates for the European Parliament elections, that this moment officially shows that the two parties have formed an electoral alliance, managing to overcome all internal discussions and show that they have the „political maturity” to make a decision for Romania’s stability and development.

„From this moment it is official. Until now, we have gone from news based on sources to breaking news, at this moment it is official: the two parties have formed an electoral alliance. We made an electoral alliance just as we built a governing coalition. We didn’t do it for the Social Democratic Party, we didn’t do it for the National Liberal Party either. Together we managed to overcome all the internal discussions and to show within the parties as well, but above all to show the Romanians that we have the political maturity to make a decision, not for us, a decision for stability, a decision for development at a time when Romania cannot afford to lose any investment, any European money and any coherence, when we talk about full Schengen Area membership by land also, when we talk about the elimination of visas for the United States and, last but not least, when we talk about joining the OECD,” stated Marcel Ciolacu, in a joint press conference with the chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Nicolae Ciuca.

The lists of candidates of the PSD-PNL Electoral Alliance for the June 9 European Parliament elections and of the supporters were submitted, on Friday, to the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) by the leaders of the two parties.
