Wholesale trade up by 3.2% in the first seven months (gross series)

The turnover in the wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), gross series, increased, in nominal terms, by 3.2% in the first seven months of this year compared to the same period last year, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics, published on Friday, write Agerpres.

The evolution was driven by the growth of intermediation activities in the wholesale trade (+16.1%), the wholesale trade of other machines, equipment and supplies (+16.1%), the wholesale trade of IT and telecommunications equipment ( +14.1%), wholesale trade of consumer goods, other than food (+10.6%), wholesale trade of food products, beverages and tobacco (+5.2%) and unspecialised wholesale trade (+2.4%).

Decreases were recorded in the specialized wholesale trade of other products (-7.6%) and the wholesale trade of raw agricultural products and live animals (-3.4%). On a series adjusted according to the number of working days and seasonality, wholesale trade increased, in nominal terms, as a whole, by 5.5%
