Bucharest mayor Nicusor Dan, an independent candidate in the presidential elections, presented the data of a Verifield opinion poll on Wednesday, noting that he is very optimistic that Romanian society will make the wise choice between reconstruction and division.

„I am very optimistic that Romanian society will make the wise choice between reconstruction and division, between an open economy, open to foreign investment, which stimulates investment, and a closed, isolationist economy, which talks about nationalizations, and between a society that promotes dialogue, harmony and a society that promotes hatred. These are the choices and I am convinced that Romanian society has the resources to choose the right direction, European, civilized, pro-economy, pro-harmony,” Nicusor Dan told a press conference.

He said that this survey was conducted a day ago, by telephone, with data collected from 944 people, with an error of 3.19%.

According to the survey presented by Nicusor Dan, to the question: „Who will you vote for in the 2nd round of the presidential elections?”, of the total sample – 38.9% would vote for George Simion, and 31.3% for Nicusor Dan, 1.4% would cancel the vote, 14.7% say they don’t know / haven’t decided, 4.9% wouldn’t vote and 8.9% didn’t answer.

To the question: „Who will you vote for in the 2nd round of the presidential elections?”, of the options expressed – 55.4% are for George Simion, and 44.6% for Nicusor Dan.

To the question: „Who would you vote for in the second round of the presidential elections?”, from the votes cast by those who go to vote, respectively 61.6% of the sample – 54.8% would vote for George Simion and 45.2% for Nicusor Dan.

The survey also refers to the redirection of votes for Crin Antonescu, Victor Ponta and Elena Lasconi.

Thus, the votes from Crin Antonescu will go: 57.3% to Nicusor Dan, 18.8% to George Simion, 1% would cancel, 16.7% were undecided, 5.2% would not go to vote, and 1% did not answer.

Victor Ponta’s votes will go: 38.6% to Nicusor Dan, 21.6% to George Simion, 5.7% would cancel, 14.8% undecided, 13.6% would not vote, 5.7% do not answer.

Elena Lasconi’s votes will be redirected: 58.6% to Nicusor Dan, 13.8% to George Simion, 24.1% undecided and 3.4% do not answer.
