Raluca Turcan, Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies and the county leader of the Sibiu branch of the National Liberal Party (PNL), told AGERPRES that the politicians from the three parties in the „Romania, Forward!” electoral alliance who supported Crin Antonescu should not ignore the message sent by voters in Sunday’s presidential election and, based on that message, they must generate „an adaptation of national political strategy” in order to preserve Romania’s pro-Western orientation.
„When three parties together get fewer votes than what we, the PNL, obtained in Sibiu in the parliamentary elections, it means the electorate is sending these parties an important message. We must correctly understand that message, not ignore it, and use it to adapt our national political strategy. The most important thing right now is to make sure Romania stays on its pro-Western path and does not lose the benefits that come from our membership in the European Union and NATO. What we do in the next two weeks will decisively shape the future of our children for at least the next five years,” Turcan stressed.
